started seriously thinking about playing Vistalites.
My name is Scott and I am a drummer out of St. Louis. I've included 2 pics of my Vistalites: a 2007 12/14/20 reissue Blue kit and a 1979 13/16/24 kit in Smoke.
The Smoke kit also comes with a factory matched 14, but I hardly ever use it. The whole kit is in great condition and I picked it up for only $500 last X-Mas eve. It was my first Vista kit, and I fell in love with the sound immediately. I started taking jazz lessons 5 months ago, so it seemed natural to land a bop sized kit. Ludwig currently offers a 12 and 14 with the reiusses, but no 20. So I ordered a 20" shell from Gold N Times, and gathered up all of the hardware through trades, ebay, and Ludwig (the toughest thing was finding a rounded corner B/O badge in good condition). The kick was drilled and put together by a builder out of NY. The 12 and 20 are both virgin. I'm sure jazz snobs will hate it but, the kit sounds great and I love it.
